“I can’t imagine a more rewarding career. I am truly blessed and grateful to be a part of each of my patients’ journeys as they recapture their health and feel better than they have in years!”

Dr. Tom began his chiropractic journey in 1987 after a close friend was involved in a bad car accident.
For months the medications and therapy didn’t work. Someone suggested trying a chiropractor. Prior to that, he had no idea how truly life impacting chiropractic care could be for people suffering. He was raised being told chiropractors were all “quacks”. Because Chiropractic care restored the quality of life in his friend, he decided to learn more about the profession and ultimately applied to Chiropractic College, graduating in 1992.

Dr. Tom is a Graduate from the University of California, Santa Cruz with a degree in Psychology. From there we went to Palmer College of Chiropractic-West, earning his doctor of chiropractic degree, and then on to the George Washington University where he received his MBA in healthcare administration.

He was in private practice at Wellbrook Family Chiropractic for 25 years. In 2017 Dr. Tom relocated to Fishers, Indiana to enjoy the Midwest life with his kids and ultimately began working at Seland Chiropractic where he enjoyed caring for and getting to know many wonderful patients of the greater Indianapolis area.

In addition to his family practice in California, Dr. Tom was the team doctor for the US National Karate Team from 2007-2011, traveling to the Pan American Games in El Salvador and Brazil as well as the World Championships in Japan, Slovenia, and Morocco. He was awarded the Distinguished Service Award in 1998 from the Washington Chiropractic Association.

With much gratitude, he credits his success in practice and life to the lessons he learned on and off the field as a member of the Concord Blue Devils Drum and Bugle Corp. He is very excited for this opportunity to reach out and serve the people of southern Indiana and Illinois and have a positive impact on their health.

When not at work, Dr. Tom enjoys spending time with family and friends. He loves a relaxing round of golf with his wife and the many mulligans that come with it. They enjoy travelling and are always looking forward to their next adventure!

“Moving home to serve this community with my best friend (Dr. Tom) is a dream come true. I’m so excited to bring health and wellness to the people who mean the most to me!”

Jess is a Lawrence County native where she grew up on a farm. Her family still resides there today. She grew up showing polled Hereford cattle at local fairs and was an active member of her FFA chapter. As a result of miscellaneous injuries and the hard work associated with farm life, she began to see a chiropractor from a young age. She was treated for multiple diagnoses ranging from borderline scoliosis to spondylothesis. She has continued her chiropractic regimen into adulthood and thanks chiropractic care for her continued mobility and amazing quality of life!
Jess began her medical path due health tragedies she witnessed firsthand in her family. She wanted to do more to help people going through the same set of circumstances, so she enrolled in nursing school.

Soon after, she developed her own health issues and began seeking out traditional medical care. She was diagnosed with a thyroid disorder and an autoimmune disease. At the time, functional medicine was not an option, so the traditional way to “fix” her problem was throw medicine at it, radiation therapy, or surgery. After going through the medication protocol with no relief in sight, she opted to receive radiation therapy to take away the function of her thyroid all together. To this day, that one decision was the biggest mistake of her life. She now takes hormone replacement and will take it her entire life, which was recommended by the conventional physicians at the time.
Jess went on to receive her Associate of Science in Nursing from Vincennes University and later received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Western Governors University. She is set to start her Family Nurse Practitioner degree from Northern Kentucky University in July 2022. Jess looks forward to specializing in Functional and Regenerative Medicine so she can serve her patients with an integrative and personalized approach to healthcare. This will involve alternative medicine that focuses on prevention of diseases and identifying/addressing root causes of disease as opposed to suppressing sets of symptoms, as she previously experienced.
After living away for many years, she’s excited to move home to serve family, friends, and loved ones in the community. She looks forward spending time with family, teaching Dr. Tom how to fish and hunt, joining the local golf club, and becoming involved in the community.
